Evidence of learning, living world immersion 1/6/17
For immersion the class has been looking at energy. The first cycle for my immersion group has been the living world. We are conducting a fair test around germinating seeds and what happens with different conditions. We had to choose a partner as well, so I chose Aart. We then had to write an experiment plan and a diagram explaining what we were going to do and what we were going to change. Once that had happened and we had checked, the teacher (Felicity) we did that, we grabbed two cups and filled them up with dirt followed by a bean seed.
We have also looked at what makes things alive or not. We used a key for the living, nonliving called MRS GREN. Each letter stands for a thing that all living things do. M is move. R is reproduce. S is sense. G is grow. R is respire (breathe). E is excrete (fart) and N is nutrition. We then looked at a classification key known as the dichotomous key. This is the key isn’t specific to anything and is a loose way to identify animals. It starts with one question usually a yes/no question like does it have legs. It then branches out to different side which has more question until you can’t go anymore. Each question only has two options.
Can you show me it sounds interesting ?
